let's study English,! now, we will read about language. Indangerous Language.
Biak language
It is spoken in Biak and Numfor and numerous small islands in this archipelago in the province of Papua, Indonesia
will survive.
a. Biak is still in danger of extinction
- Only 30.000 speakers
- Younger generations do not even generally
have passive knowledge of the language.
- Within the main towns the generation of
speakers aged between 20 and 50 have only passive knowledge of the language and
rarely use the language actively, instead preferring to use Malay.
b. Deserve to save
- However, within the villages further from
town there were still children who were fluent in Biak.
- Songs in Biak are also very popular
throughout the Islands.
c. There is a strong initiative to promote
the use of Biak Language
- Translations of various books and
teaching manuals.
- Biak radio station programs.
- Since 2002 there has also been an
initiative to introduce Biak being taught formerly in schools on the Islands.
Mapia language
Mapia is an extinct
Micronesian language of Indonesia. The population emigrated from Micronesia
early in the 20th century, and then assimilated linguistically; the only
speaker as of 2000 was an elderly man who had remained behind on the island.
The rest of the population of Mapia are now Biak-speaking immigrants.
“Two
language of Austronesian in Papua”
Defendable
Language (read: Biak)
Biak is a language
from Austronesian family. I predict that Biak, a language spoken in Biak and Numfor and numerous small islands in this archipelago in the province of Papua will survive. There are several reasons
for my opinion. First, Biak language is still in danger of extinction. There
are about 30.000 speakers. The younger generations do not even generally have
passive knowledge of the language. Also, within the main towns the generation
of speakers aged between 20 and 50 have only passive knowledge of the language
and rarely use the language actively, instead preferring to use Malay. Because
the Biak is including by endangered language, we must save and survive it
together.
For the more, Biak
language is deserve to save. However, within the villages further from town
there were still children who were fluent in Biak. Songs in Biak are also very
popular throughout the Islands. In the other side, there is a strong initiative
to promote the use of Biak language. People can read of various books
translation and the people can know the Biak language by teaching manuals. They
can listen to Biak radio station programs. Since 2002 there has also been an
initiative to introduce Biak being taught formerly in schools on the Islands. For
these reasons, I believe that people will continue to speak the Biak language.
Undefendable
Language (read: Mapia)
Mapia is the name of
language it was spoken on Mapia Island, 180 km north of the coast of West Papua. Language family from Mapia is Austronesian. Now, Mapia language was
diing out. It was happened cause no again who was spoken Mapia language. The only speaker as of 2000 was an
elderly man who had remained behind on the island. Nowadays, Mapia language is
really lost.
Mapia is an extinct
Micronesian language of Indonesia. The population emigrated from Micronesia
early in the 20th century, and then assimilated linguistically. In addition, many
speakers Mapia who migrated to other areas. They use the language of new area
and then Mapia language was forgotten. The
rest of the population of Mapia are now Biak-speaking immigrants. There are not
effort that can we do to save Mapia language. Nothing radio programs, and
nothing spirit native on Mapia Island to everlast it. The translation book is
also didn’t expanded. I think, we can’t know how Mapia language was spoken in
the last because it was extinct.
